Our Therapy Approach
We aim to be flexible in how we provide services, and are happy to incorporate your needs and interests to make it work. Want to walk or move around while we talk? Want to draw while we talk? Want to bring comfort items to sessions? That's fine! Let us know what you need and we will strive to accommodate it. We are a mobile service that comes to you.
We chose the name making space, because we want to ensure there is space for you to be yourself, feel safe, ask for what you need, learn and provide feedback. For us, we strive for space to learn and change our approach to better support our clients.
Who We Support
Neurodivergent individuals from 7+. Our support covers predominately autism, ADHD and intellectual disability. This also includes those who have experienced mental health difficulties or trauma.
For Youth (7-17)
Family, or your chosen support system, are key to your wellbeing. Because of this, Making Space OT not only works with you, but your support system to achieve positive outcomes. We focus on shorter blocks of therapy, where specific goals are worked on. Therapy is not only conducted with the young person but the support system around them will be actively engaged too.

Session blocks include 1:1 services for the young person and family education. The family, or support system, are required to engage in therapy too, having their own 1:1 sessions with the OT. This is to ensure success outside of the therapeutic setting.
For Adults (18+)
We focus on shorter blocks of therapy to help you in achieving specific goals. If you have important people in your life you would like to learn about your needs, we are happy to support their learning too. We can also work collaboratively with employers to ensure your wellbeing.

Sessions blocks for adults can be customised to meet your needs. This can be discussed at the first session.
