Always looking for kitty cats
Hey there,
I'm Alice, I'm an Occupational Therapist who also holds a Masters in Mental Health. Since graduating in 2014, I have worked in disability (across adults and paediatrics) and was also a support worker for 2 years prior to this. I have an interest in supporting mental health and sensory processing needs across the lifespan. I feel there is often a lack of understanding of the mental health needs of neurodivergent people and these are often overlooked or ignored. I love talking all things sensory and recognise the impact it can have on your everyday life and wellbeing. My main goal is to support you to embrace your needs (and who you are), advocate for yourself and have the strategies to maintain your wellbeing.
I have also completed a range of training in trauma informed practices, family therapy and body based therapies. I love learning and think it's important that all approaches are tailored to suit the individual.
Part of being an Occupational Therapist means finding out what is important to you, and ensuring you have the accommodations, strategies and supports in place to do this. We work as a team to find a style of therapy that best suits you. If it’s important to you, then its important to me!
When I am not working, I love spending time with animals (you'll usually find me with my dog, Buddy), gaming, reading, going to the movies (especially a good horror film), spending time with my friends and family and attending live music.
